I mentioned in my previous post that my health over the past few months has been a big concern. With the move that John and I made earlier this year from Southern California to the East Coast here in Atlanta, it's been a rough start getting transitioned with finding new doctors, starting new eating regimens and sticking to a fitness routine that works with both of our schedules.

All of that said, it has taken a serious toll on our bodies, our mental health and our physical fitness. Although we feel incredibly fortunate to have made the move to be closer to family, we are stressed out and not at all where we'd like to be in terms of overall well being. We still feel like we are in a bit of transition and not completely settled.
So I for one am going to start challenging myself to do more, change the status quo, and be a better version of me. I cannot continue down the same path or I will continue to get the same results, right? Progress over perfection.
First things first. I'm starting with one big kinda scary thing. I did something I never ever thought I would do. I joined a direct sales/network marketing company. Woah, full stop.
Those of you who have known me for years are probably gasping because I told you to never approach me about joining one because it has simply never been for me. Like don't shove it down my throat. Not interested.

But when I found out about Beautycounter, it felt pretty organic. And I say this because, I cannot even tell you exactly who told me about it in the first place. I think, at first, a few people actually showed up in my social feeds talking about it. It didn't feel contrived or forced upon me. I remember seeing something about the brand MISSION first. And I remember how that RESONATED with me. You mean a beauty brand that is doing something to make a real difference and change the way people feel? And how policy is changed and regulated in government? WOAH. Now that's the good stuff.
The more it showed up, the more I wanted to know. So I secretly and very quietly asked around, made some purchases to try out the product so I could test out the legitimacy of this brand, and wouldn't you know? It checks out. This company, its founder and the people I've met so far are completely legit.
Damn it. I'm in.

What is Beautycounter?
If you're wondering what Beautycounter is, don't worry. You're probably not alone. It is a direct retail company that offers beauty and skincare products. Their mission is to get safer products into the hands of everyone, which is something I can wholeheartedly stand behind.
WHY Beautycounter?
Mission Oriented - There are endless amounts of information on their site about focus, transparency, intentionality, purpose, and responsibility
Entrepreneurship - 100% what you make of it - only get out what you put in
Flexibility - No commitments (small yearly sales #, which can likely be met in personal purchases if you love the brand as much as most!)
AMAZING product - When the products speak for themselves, they're easy to sell
I don't what anyone to think that this is me pushing Beautycounter on them. I've been thinking for months about how I wanted to introduce this to my peeps, my tribe. Like I said, I was nervous to mention this because some of my people are going to question my authenticity on this one, and that's ok. Because we can all have a change of heart if it means getting behind something we really believe in and a mission we can stand behind. And I've had a change of heart when it comes to Beautycounter.
I've taken careful consideration into making sure that I didn't "pitch" this to anyone. And I wanted this introduction to be as organic to you as it was to me. I will never push it on anyone as that is not my style nor does that represent my values in any way.
WHY Now?
Now more than ever, I am concerned about the following: my personal health, the future of this planet and the harm we are doing to it and our bodies by our refusal to recognize our part in the big commercial/industrial food chain, our federally unregulated beauty industry that desperately needs to hear our voice, and the ever growing desire to contribute more to the sustainability of my family by means that are important and meaningful to me.
This is my WHY.
If you've heard about the brand, or have any interest in learning more about what this incredible company is doing, please don't hesitate to reach out. I will be communicating more about this on a regular basis in the future and hope to educate as much as I can to those who care to know!
As always, thanks for reading. Let me know if you'd like to know more!
Always Growing,
